Talking to Brenda the other day about the web page for our church (http://www.runnymedeunited.org/ ), I realized that instead of trying to make that page everything for everyone, we could create a blog to exchange views, or just to let everyone know about TV specials, books or movies that may be of public interest. So, here it is. For whatever it is worth, here is an informal, "unofficial", unedited and non-sanctioned place to communicate.
This, by no means, attempts to replace the functions of the bulletins or the RUC web-page as sources of official news and programs. This is just an electronic bulleting board to help exchange ideas and prayers to become better disciples.
I suggest we keep in mind when writing comments in this blog, the two basic rules that apply to all Christians: love God with all you’ve got and your neighbour the same.
In the words of Paul in his letter to Philippians 4:8-9:
…You’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious –the best, not the worst, the beautiful, not the ugly, things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that and God, who make everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.”
So, here is what you can do to make the blog work:
- write comments
- post pictures
- review books
- review movies or TV programs
- share menus
- invite friends to blog here (http://Runnymedediscipling.blogspot.com)
